If you are looking to experiance a hotel where all the "action" is, the Wailea Marriot is not for you. In fact Maui may not be for you. We found this hotel and island with a more relaxed atmosphere. The Hotel, like the island, is more about scenery then "what to do". The staff was very nice offering valet parking as soon a you arrive. We even recieved a room upgrade without asking upon checking in at the front desk. They made a mistake and put my wife, 1 year old daughter, and I in a room with two double beds. We arrived at night so we didn't get to look around until the next morning. Once we got a look from the private balcony, of the garden, beach, and Heleakaa mountian in the background; we didn't care. They have a golf course, private beach, resturants, luau grounds, High speed internet access, and shops locatd on the property. The food from the kitchen is a little pricey for the portions, but it was fine. The rooms have interactive TV's so you can order movies, food, or even video games for the kids (the gaming system was a little old though) with ease. The services will be billed to the room. You can also use the TV to keep track of your current charges so you won't be suprised when you are billed. When you return to you room, after enjoying the day out, you'll find a chocolate along with a card explaining the history (or story) of Hawaii. It was a nice touch. When we didn't quite get get back and packed in time for checkout they put us in another room for a few hours for free. I would recommend it to anybody going there. If you get a chance to go, stay in the Heleaka hale. You will love the view.
