    Stayed in both towers at this hotel. I prefer the new tower - the basic rooms are much bigger (probably twice the size of the rooms in the historic building), not to mention newer and cleaner looking. The standard room in the historic tower is small and boxy, the bathroom fixtures are dated but some would say the historic tower has more character. The lobby has a charming bar area. The best thing about this hotel, especially for leisure travelers is it's location, right in Union Square.

    This hotel is right on Union Square. great location. rooms are a bit small, but recently underwent renovations. Very upscale decor in common areas.
