Hotel is mediocre at best. Though just built in 1991, it is very plain in the inside and not very luxurious. The beach is nice but the hotel is at the very end of the hotel strip, towards the beginning near the airport. The premium tower has its own pool and secluded beach area. Will not return because the rooms and hotel grounds are rather plain, not very luxurious. - On Jun. 17, 2004, Anonymous posted:
The Westin Cancun is what I would consider an average Westin property. It was okay but nothing to get too excited about. The ground are very nice and there are several pools and a lagune area. Service was so-so at best but I really didn't expect more based on past visits to Cancun. Be sure to ask for a room in the Elite Tower. All have balconies and ocean views. Elite Tower has its own pool. If you want to swim in the ocean, walk down to the cove by the Club Med where there are less waves.
