On Jul. 13, 2004, Ruchi posted: This was a rustic but very well appointed hotel. The rooms are spread out over a vast area with a lot of greenery. The hotel grounds were lush. The rooms and bathrooms were neat and clean. The bathroom had a large shower with a waterfall showerhead. There is large common dining area attached to the lobby, which provides great food and excellent service. The location was perfect, in the town of Aguas Calientes which is at the base of Machu Picchu. The train from Cuzco stops almost directly in front of the hotel, and the bus that takes you to the top of Machu Picchu is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Machu Picchu Pueblo is a better place to stay than the Sanctuary Lodge at the top of the mountain because the Pueblo is set in the small town of Aguas Calientes. There are plenty of small shops and restaurants around. Internet access is available for a small fee in the lobby. I look forward to returning to the Pueblo.
